Numerous State and Federal cost share assistance programs are accessible to you through your local Soil and Water Conservation District. These programs can provide financial assistance to help reduce your “out of pocket” cost of installing a variety of soil conservation and/or water quality improvement practices. The amount of cost share assistance provided varies from program to program but it generally ranges from 50 – 75% of the total cost of the practice dependent upon which program is utilized. Some examples of practices eligible for cost share assistance include:
- Terraces
- Cover Crops
- Grassed Waterways
- Grade Stabilization Structures
- No-Till Planting
- Filter Strips
- Forest Stand Improvement
- Saturated Buffers
- Wetlands
- Windbreaks
- Storm Water Management (ex. Rain Garden)
These are just a few of the many practices which are eligible for cost share assistance to help with addressing your soil conservation and/or water quality improvement needs.
